Whether you call it mustard, lemon or saffron, yellow is a great colour to introduce into the interior or exterior of your home.  Yellow is such  a cheerful colour to decorate with and is guaranteed to bring warmth to any room in your home.  There are so many versions of this complex colour that I think there is a yellow for everybody.

Using Yellow Inside

A brighter version of yellow can sometimes go a long way.  A couple ways to bring this sunny colour into your home is with an accent wall or painting a piece of furniture.

There are many beautiful colours to pair with this more buttery version. Grays, whites or blues are just a few among many options.

You may find the warmer version of yellow to be more liveable.  Often referred to as mustard this colour would look beautiful paired with navy blues or sage greens.

(I apologize for the next picture and the wintery scene outside but I love the colour of the sofa!)

If you are considering bringing this colour onto some walls in your home you may want to consider using wallpaper or tiles rather then paint.

If  yellow walls are a little too bold you can bring this colour into your home through the use of fabric and textures.  Pillows, bedding, drapes and artwork are just a few options.

Using Yellow Outside

Now that spring has finally arrived yellow is a great colour to use in our exterior spaces.  Because the lighting is so much brighter outside don’t be afraid to use a bolder version of yellow in your outdoor decorating.  Some ways to incorporate yellow is with the use of cushions, flowerpots and even your front door.
