There are some colours more versatile than others and for me navy blue is one of my go-to-colours that never fails. Navy blue is great as a neutral or it can be used as an accent colour. Sometimes referred to as Indigo, navy is a timeless, sophisticated and classic colour. It can be paired with so many other colours such as corals, greens and pinks. Navy can also be used in any room in your home such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. Today I’d love to show you some ways to bring this striking colour into your home.
Here is a beautiful example of navy blue used in a living room. The dark blue colour showcases the white fireplace surround and wall art. I think the pop of pink in the room is perfect but almost any colour would work.
Navy blue is a beautiful backdrop for gallery walls. Using a white matte will ensure your pictures stand out against the dark blue.
If using navy on the walls is a little too bold for you try bringing in this colour on furniture such as dressers, nightstands or a bookcase. You may already have an existing piece of furniture that you could paint in this rich colour.
Because navy acts as a great neutral you could also use it on your upholstered furniture. Whether it’s a couch, chair or even a headboard navy would be a great alternative.
If you are looking for just a small way to bring navy into your home consider lamps, throw cushions, rugs or bed linens. These accent pieces can add just that pop of colour you may be looking to add to your home.
I hope I’ve inspired you to inject some navy blue into your home. Happy Decorating and have a Great Day!
